Mom’s Weekend!

This past weekend was my Mom’s Weekend with my sorority, Phi Mu. It was great having my mom come and visit me, especially since the last few times she has come it was to either move me in or out of college. I was so excited to show her my stomping grounds and take her around the town.

Me and my momma!

She arrived Friday afternoon and we went shopping to the nearby mall. I didn’t find much, but I did get a new pair of leggings and job for next year (lol). We then went to dinner at Pacific Table. We both got the salmon, which was amazing! I recommend checking it out if you’re ever in the DFW area.

That night, my sorority was holding a painting party at Painting with a Twist. It’s a fun little place where you follow the instructor and paint what they’re painting. The twist is that it’s BYOB, but since it was a sorority event, drinking was not allowed. We painted a carnation, which is Phi Mu’s flower. The instructor was SUPER ANNOYING but we still had a lot of fun!

Saturday was a very eventful day! We woke up and went shopping, mainly to Target and Trader Joe’s. Later that day we dressed up for a nice dinner at Del Frisco’s, a steakhouse downtown. It was all right, but the service was pretty bad. After dinner we went to my sorority’s philanthropy event that was at the Botanic Gardens.

Sunday was my Mom’s last day and my sorority had a brunch with all the moms downtown to celebrate our Founder’s Day. The food was super yummy and it was nice to socialize with a few of my “sisters”.

I’m so glad my mom was able to come and visit me this weekend. I had so much fun showing her around and spending time with her, even though I’ll be home in a few days!

xoxo, Sophia Angela
